So many ideas spawned for this challenge. I kept coming back to this story so I guess it needed to be told. Books have been my constant, but we're at the point where some of them need to go.
Journaling: I’m a pakrat. I’m probably just a few boxes short of being a hoarder. So it’s no surprise that I have trouble with clearing out the clutter around the house, particularly the books. I overflowed the bookshelves ages ago and now have piles stacked everywhere. Saying good-bye to books is the equivalent to losing a friend. Books have seen me through every up, down, and event in my life. It was painful sorting through the children’s books, even knowing she’d never read them again. We finally donated all of Victoria’s Magic Tree House and Geronimo Stilton books to the library book sale. I think we had a complete set of the Magic Tree House which thrilled the librarians. There are more books that need to go, probably six more shelves. I don’t think I can say good-bye to the Dr. Seuss books on the bottom shelf.
