Template Mashup: This Day, Right Here

Hello from Merrilee (aka digigrandma). I’m back with another Template Mashup Challenge! I just love browsing in the Katie Pertiet Designs store to review all the wonderful templates available.  So many possible choices, but, I  settled on two templates I think you’ll enjoy mashing.

Layer Works 1514

Layer Works 1755

Kathy, Valerie, Stacia and I created examples to whet your interest in joining in on the challenge. As you can see, we each created an original design using the two templates.

This lovely first example is by Kathy (aka BlackKathy). She singled out the woven twig wreath from LW 1755 and used it to frame the sweet face of her smiling granddaughter. That photo takes center stage, but, a second black and white photo is framed with a photo stack frame with lovely layers underneath. Two creative clusters are in the corners of the page, too.

Next, Valerie (aka nana_vg) also features stunning photographs of a granddaughter. I love that the center of her page is a large photo and then the smaller photos adorn the sides of that photo. She uses soft elements from the templates and artfully arranged them for a stellar scrapbook page. A background paper from Vintage Artistry Sage Paper Pack completes the page.

Stacia, includes four beautiful photos on her outdoorsy page that tell the story of a visit to a wonderful place for young boys to explore the outdoors. Again, a large photo down the center of the page is eye catching and the smaller photos help to show the details. She chose elements from the templates that fit her outdoor adventure theme. Additional designs used are from Artoptions Avesta Chipboard Bits and Monthly Memmories Vol 02 Layered Templates 10.

My page documents the day our grandson moved into his college dorm room at a college far from home. I’m so glad his family sent me photos of this big day in his life. I liked the subtle word in Layer Works 1514 because it fit my theme of starting a new learning adventure. My textured weave background paper is from Duncan Solids Paper Pack.

Now, we invite you to choose bits and pieces from each template to create your own original scrapbook page. I guarantee you will find it an enjoyable experience! Then, post in the Template Challenge Gallery and in the October Challenge Participation Thread. Posting in both places ensures you will earn points towards the October Reward.

Note: The templates will be included in the Thrifty Thursday Sale this week making it a great time to grab them and then join in on the Template Mashup Challenge.

Happy Scrapping in October!
