Template Mashup: Fun Memories
Hi all! Merrilee (aka Digigrandma) here with a new Mashup Challenge. Hope everyone is enjoying good weather for summer activities or for winter activities depending on where you live! I am in the mood for creating something whimsical and fun, so, I chose two templates with oodles of ideas for creating a scrapbook page for remembering good times. The templates are designs by Tracy Thomson and Liz Toms and now you can pick and choose from their ideas to create your own masterpiece!
The rules for this challenge are simple! Just make sure you use parts of each of the templates when you create your page. There are so many layers of embellishments in these templates that you will probably only need to add a background paper, but, it’s perfectly OK to add in papers and additional elements from your KPD stash if you wish. The templates are included in the Thursday sale this week.
Post your new creation in the Template Challenge Gallery and also in the Rewards Participation Thread for July to earn credit towards a reward coupon to use in the KPD Store.
Here’s how Monica, Valerie and I from the Creative Team were inspired by the templates.
First, Monica (aka mosbaskets) made use of the different frames to showcase 7 photos from a visit to Longwood Gardens. It’s an eye pleasing design, for sure! She used Palette Textures 10 to complete her page.
Second, Valerie (aka nana_vg) modified the colors in the templates to showcase photos of a very young wrestler at Wrestling Camp. This was a fun page for me to see since my dad coached wrestling at the U of Minnesota for 32 years and he sponsored a youth camp for young wrestlers every summer. Her background papers are from Arctic Whites Paper Pack and Textured Cardstocks Paper Pack 01
I could not resist making two pages with the templates. My first page is a look back in time to a visit from our son and two grandsons. All three had new roller blades and they tried them out on our driveway. The second page features a photo taken on the 4th of July this year. Background papers for both examples are from Color Swatch Ocean Papers.
