Get Inspired Challenge – Book Covers: July

Good morning everyone! Sharon here, with a new book cover challenge for you.

This month we’re sticking close to the book theme with this cover:

I like the library/book theme – a search in the store for “Library” bring up lots of library themed elements.

I love these Back to School Library Cards:

This beautiful Antiquarian Artistry Kit has some gorgeous library cards included:

If like me, you’re partial to using library pockets to tuck goodies into, this lovely Poppy Fields Element Pack has a nice selection.

You could be inspired by the colour scheme:

or by the font mix which has a mix of a narrow sans serif font with a typewriter font and a  handdrawn font.
You might have an important date that needs documenting – you could create a stamped date which is stamped multiple times and “falls’ down the page like the dates on the cover.
The quirky ‘ist’ on the end of ‘librarian’ could be applied to other occupations for a fun twisted title: teacherist, quilterist, musicianist etc etc

I love how our Guest CT member Monica (mosbaskets) used the quirky title and a subtitle to document an important event. And the use of the notepaper background is brilliant!

Our CT member Linda (earlofoxford) also went with an ‘ist’ title! She used the colour scheme and a gridded card design to make a record of her scrapping tools!

I really wanted to play with the title idea and stuck with the cream and red colour combination for this layout. I loved using the library card to contain my title, subtitle and a tiny bit of journalling to document my lack of memory skills!

For this layout, I used some date slips that reminded me of bookmarks and went with that title idea again. It seemed a good fit for these pics of friends of mine from the USA visiting at one of my favourite bookstores in Western Australia!

Our layouts with complete credit lists will be in the Get Inspired Gallery shortly and I hope we’ve inspired you to join us there this month. Katie has very generously put together a FREEBIE if you would like to use it. Happy Scrapping everyone!
