Love It + List It: Food

Please pardon the terrible joke, but this month our topic is something we can all sink our teeth into: FOOD. There’s no end to the direction you might take to make a list about food. What are your favorite foods, desserts, appetizers, fruits, beverages, etc? Do you have traditions around certain meals? At our house, my daughter-in-law must have mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving and Christmas. What recipes do you love/hate to cook? What were the dishes in your most memorable meal? See what I mean – lots of ways to approach this one. Carol and Penny from the Creative Team joined me in listing about food. Here’s how we were inspired.

Carol’s (carollee) page is all about a favorite Mexican restaurant that she and her mother frequented. I love the bright, fiesta-like colors and those cute strings of lights that make me want to shout, “Ole!” She put her list of why this place is special on labels of coordinating colors. Now I want to go eat Mexican.

Penny (pennyh) scrapped about a visit to Cleveland, Ohio, where she discovered a bakery and cafe in Little Italy that made all sorts of mouth-watering dishes. Her wonderful photos really pop in one of Liz Toms’ terrific templates. Now, I’m dying for Italian food.

There’s no particular cuisine featured on my page – just a few of our family’s favorite dishes. They call it comfort food for a reason, so I decided to tell the stories behind some of the things we like to eat. I went for the homespun look in my design to underscore the no frills aspect of our most-requested recipes.

Since our friends here at Katie Pertiet Designs span the globe, I’m betting we’ll all learn a few new things about food from the pages you design. I’m looking forward to seeing how you’re inspired. Remember to post your page in the Love It + List It Gallery as well as in the March Challenges Participation thread in the forum. Bon appetite and happy scrapping!
