Get Inspired Challenge: Home Decor October

Good Morning everyone, and welcome to October’s Get Inspired Challenge!

My name is Sharon and this is our inspiration image this month:

I just LOVED all the bright colours! While the image presents a plethora of colours, this is the colour palette that jumped out at me.

Other things which caught my eye were:

• the matted prints in different coloured frames on the wall
• the geometric pattern on the rug
• the scalloped edge to the coffee table
• the layers of pillows on the couch
• the bric-a-brac
• the two little birds on the wall.

I decided to run with the matted frames, the bright colours, the scalloped edge and the little birds.

I used a frame from the Wood Veneer Plain Photo Frames 01 pack.

In order to recolour, I chose one of the lighter coloured frames and placed it on my page. I then removed the colour. I used the eyedropper to select a colour from the image and created a fill layer which I then clipped to the frame. I changed the blend mode of the fill layer to multiply which reveals the woodgrain. You can then click on the fill layer in the layers panel to play with/adjust the colour if needed.

I loved the scalloped edge so I used the scallop from the Graphic Simplicity Brushes and Stamps set.

My fellow CT members Julie and Rae were inspired to create some beautiful pages.

Julie was inspired by the mix of bright colours and the scalloped edge to scrap this stunning photo of Autumn Colour:

Rae took inspiration from all of the colors, the big flowers and the woodgrain. She liked how the colorful room was balanced with accents in white so she added white to her background:
