iTunes Challenge: October

Hi, Trace (tracermajig) here with a new iTunes challenge for you! Can you believe how fast October has flown by? I really can’t! When I was looking for inspiration for our challenge this month I wanted something versatile. Halloween is approaching so that was on my mind, but I wanted an album that could translate to any kind of scrapbook page. Grids are perfect for that!

I loved the idea of tucking in little bits of sentimental and relevant ephemera into a printer tray or frame cluster to create a page. You could use this same design for different holidays or seasons. Or how about as an album cover and having your ephemera match the topic of your album? This would work great for travel or baby/kid albums! The possibilities are endless.

Katie has put a freebie together to get you started. The freebie is geared towards Halloween but don’t feel as though you have to create a Halloween layout. The team have made some beautiful pages for this challenge and I can’t wait to see where the inspiration takes everyone else!

Merr (digigrandma) created a stunning non-photo page for October. I love the little bits and pieces she tucked in that symbolise October for her. Don’t you think this would be a great idea for monthly title pages in a yearly album? You could add in bits and pieces that were specific to what happened in your month.

Julie (MaggieMae) also created a non-photo layout but for Halloween. I loved looking into each little box to see what goodies she had curated. I also think that spider web brush and edge overlay in the background are a great touch to ‘ground’ the frame!

Rae (bcgal00) also created a gorgeous October themed layout. Once again, I loved finding all of the little bits of ephemera that help tell the story of her page. I also loved the pattern paper background and the dimension that the flowers, buttons and banner add to it! It is a stunning page!

I (tracermajig) went in a Halloween direction but decided not to use traditional colours. It was so much fun going through my stash and finding little bits and pieces that fit with my theme and my colour scheme. And by having everything contained within the frame, it also left me a lot of room for my journaling.
