Michelle and I drove up north together this weekend for a family funeral. We were staying overnight at Karen & Tim’s house. Not long after we got there we were chatting in the kitchen and Karen mentioned that Michelle and I were both going to be sleeping in the same bedroom. Michelle’s response was explosive and absolutely hilarious:
“What?! You’ve got to be EFFING kidding me!”
(Note, Michelle used the real “F” word which by itself was shocking because she typically doesn’t swear.) I responded:
“Wow. Hurtful!”
She immediately apologized and said that she didn’t mean anything by it; just that had she known she would have brought ear plugs. (In her defense I do snore when I don’t have my CPAP.) Karen rescued her and gave us each our own bedroom. Tragedy was averted, there were no real hurt feelings and we had a funny story to tell.
