It was all kind of a weird twist of fate. A random story about trousers that can be cross-referenced with this year’s Project Life - Week 5! The short of it is, in digging out some trousers that I’d stashed away, I unearthed Hayley’s prom shoes. Now these shoes cost me the princely sum of £79.99 in 2009. A rather hefty amount at the time. She wore them for a few hours on prom night and maybe, just maybe, once a short while after then. Rather fanciful, don’t you think?
Anyhow, I messaged her to see if she wanted them, thinking oh gawd, yet another thing to pack.
Nope she said. We can let them go she said. I had no idea you even still had them she said. Insert laughing emoji.
Yes, I’ve hung on to the sentimental value for nigh on 15 years. That’s what Mum’s do. And here’s a scrapbook page for old times sake as these pretty shoes hopefully move on to be loved by someone else while another little piece of my heart is sad yet ever so grateful for such days gone by.
Footnote (excuse the pun): the dress was donated a few years back, mainly because it took up much more space than the shoes!
