I remembered that I still needed to tell the story of the microburst that hit right next to our cabin last summer. Here is the journaling: "Kelly and I were staying at the cabin and we knew some weather was coming in. Kelly loves a good thunderstorm, so she was all excited. The sky darkened and it rained incredibly hard for just a few minutes and then passed. The next morning, we looked in the yard and noticed a couple twigs down and some water run off in the garden, but nothing serious. I didn’t go down to the water and look across. It ended up that a Microburst was recorded by the National Weather Service that packed over 100 mph winds in tiny pockets right next to us. They described it as multiple discrete supercell thunderstorms causing extreme winds emanating from a microburst. Our neighbors across the lake had so much terrible damage including over 100 trees down and a vehicle crushed by a fallen tree. The lot right next to us had serious damage of giant trees taken down. There were areas just down the lake with giant trees pulled out by the roots. It was very similar damage to a tornado, where it hits and jumps leaving some areas untouched and demolishing everything right next to it. We were so thankful that our property was spared. July 10, 2023"
