This is inspired by a few things. Carolyn's Let's Blend challenge LO reminded me of these photos my brother took in 2008 when they visited my SIL's village in the Philippines. I took some of the design elements from Jana's inspiration for this week's SSL. And this is a page about family but since it isn't really my immediate family--didn't think I should put it in for the All About You challenge. Whenever I see photos from my SIL's family, I am reminded about how lucky and privileged we all are in this country. So interesting to see one of their nieces having the job of pumping their water, how they have to transport their packages from shopping trips. Having to take a canoe to get to any shopping. When I have seen photos from her mother's funeral, they had the viewing in their home, transported the casket to the river crossing in the carabao drawn cart and load it into one of those bancas. Once across the river, it was loaded into a hearse and they all walked behind it to get to the church for the funeral.
