They say that the best camera is the one you have with you. Even though I packed in my DSLR for this trip... I made a concious decision to just use my phone because it’s just so much more convenient, compact and light. I hope I don’t regret it. A shot is a shot, right? Letting go of perfection. Accepting when something’s good enough.
One of the places Hayley and I had on our “must visit” list was the Montebello Design Centre in Newlands. Lovely fresh produce and some unique art and lovely creations on display. Then coffee in the church cafe on Greenmarket Square and lunch at Burger & Lobster on Bree St.
Noordhoek Farm Village was another place on our list. More fresh produce and arts, crafts and jewellery. Ice cream and marshmallows too. A lovely drive home along Chapman’s Peak. Always, always, always eye candy.
Musings of the Week
How does one pick 4 images out of 831 for this week? Quite simply, you can’t. Shots this week comprised of people I love, places I love, things I love... and in all honesty, real life too. And no, not all my images from this week are perfect, just like my life isn’t, but I’m more than happy with them because I’m done with perfect. These four images are simply a few that have brought me joy. The beauty of the fairest Cape has hit me more this week than I think it’s ever done before. It’s the natural beauty, it’s the diversity, it’s people really honing in on all the area has to offer, adding their stamp to it and giving tourists and locals alike, experiences and wonder and fun and light, in a world that, let’s face it, is still off its axis. I admire the resourcefulness, the creativity and the perseverence of the nation. I’m fiercely proud of my ties to this amazing corner of the world, the ways in which my life there changed and molded me as a person and I miss it now more than I ever have before and more than I could ever imagine.
