Oscar

This is a late upload of my page for last month's template mashup. Unfortunately, I was away for most of January and didn't get to post it in the gallery.
My daughter has adopted a 7yo greyhound. I was able to find out quite a lot about his racing life online, she finds his history quite distressing but I wanted to document it.
Unfortunately since then she's finding very hard to look after him on her own - he stresses if he's left alone, and she feels trapped. This may not be his forever home after all :(
I used the two templates:
Layer Works No 1030: https://www.katiepertietdesigns.com/store/index.php/product/layer-works-1030/
Stories of our Life Layered Template No 04 https://www.katiepertietdesigns.com/store/index.php/product/stories-of-our-life-layered-template-04/
and
Vintage Artistry Everyday Solids https://www.katiepertietdesigns.com/store/index.php/product/vintage-artistry-everyday-solids-paper-pack/
Cabana Whites Paper Pack https://www.katiepertietdesigns.com/store/index.php/product/cabana-whites-paper-pack/
Ephemera French Dictionary Sheets (the greyhound) https://www.katiepertietdesigns.com/store/index.php/product/ephemera-french-dictionary-sheets-01/
I just love this page using the templates for my January mashup, Esther. It was a great example for the blog. Wonderful story! The space for the journal text is just perfect.

So interesting to read Oscar's story - I've often wondered what happened with these dogs when they stop racing.

Love your page. My daughter adopted a retired greyhound too. He also has issues with separation anxiety - it has gotten better, though. We dogsit if they are going to be gone long. :) (Which we don't mind at all - he is a lovely dog, and very well behaved).

I love that you did the research and that she adopted him, that is so cool! Plus your page is super!

Yes, I've offered to dogsit but it is not really practical as Zoe lives a couple of hours' drive away! And we are currently repairing a door frame that he chewed last time they visited 😕

We had a friend who adopted a greyhound, such a docile dog! Very cool information about Oscar. I hope things work out!

I'm lucky since my daughter is only a 10 minute drive away. :). Dak (their greyhound) attacked their wood blinds when he was left alone when they first got him.

It's a great story, and I too hope it works out. They are said to be one of the best dog breeds for families, but one can understand that the racing background must leave an impact on their mental state. The racing photos were a great find.
