The Berlin Wall Crisis has meaning to me because it affected my family. My dad's National Guard unit was called up after the wall went up which forced my parents to get married earlier than planned and he was gone for almost year. He came home just before I was born.
There are two of these sculptures--one in Berlin and one in College Station at the George Bush Library and the piece of the wall is in the Library too.
