It started with a bit of an impulse buy as she stood at the Customer Service counter in the supermarket down town. More than a little irritated that she’d had to call in on her way home after a pretty tough day at work, to return the kettle that had unceremoniously stopped working after just three days, she pondered whether to fork out the last few quid she had that sat between her and pay day. The assistant processed the refund for the defunct kettle before she succumbed and shoved her purchase in the outside pocket of her handbag before running across the crossing to reach her car. It was in a split second later that night that her world changed forever. A moment that she’d never dreamed possible. She was stunned. Those numbers. Her numbers. The winning combination. And as she sat leisurely over breakfast the next morning, she contemplated the wonderful day ahead when she could walk away from a job that no longer enthused her, thanks to her life changing lottery win.
