Like Carol, I have felt very sad today to have lost this calm, steady, cheerful presence in our world. As Aussie children of the sixties, we were pretty steeped in admiration for the monarchy - and thought of the UK as the 'homeland' despite being born so far away. I don't think of myself as a "fan" of the Royal Family today - but I had a great deal of respect for this gracious lady. The end of an era.
