It was a beautiful but hot day for hiking on Mount Rainier last Friday. At least it was clear so we could see that beautiful mountain. Unfortunately with the heat we've had this year, so much snow has melted that there's a lot of bare rock exposed now. It's so sad to see. The glaciers aren't protected as they need to be either. Just awful. But I'm glad we went. It was good to be out hiking again.

Hiking up the left side at Paradise was absolutely brutal. Relentlessly up, up, up. At least now we know! The beating sun & heat didn’t help at all.
