It was a much longer walk to the boardwalk than I thought, and even further to the ocean viewing platform. But we finally made it! We sat and listened to the waves for a bit, and then we were joined by a young family, who cycled up, ready to fly their brand new kite. They headed down the dunes to the beach, and with the brisk wind, the kite was soon aloft. It was a true delight to watch it dip and soar effortlessly as the strong breezes kept it high above the sand. Mom and I watched it for quite a while before we finally got up and embarked on the long trek back.
