Awesome ad challenge inspiration! I love all the photo spots. Here's where I ended up, with some precious photos from a long ago family picnic. There are several more than I still want to scrap, so I'll make at least one companion page (or two!). Love getting these onto a page, to preserve and share.
Journaling
I’m not sure where this family 4th of July picnic was held, but probably at a family home. Perhaps in Bellingham? My grandfather, Rolly, took the photos (slides, as was the vogue in those days). My youngest brother was just a few months old. So many relatives I remember, though mostly not with us anymore. My great-grandmother, Mom Turner. My aunt Holly and her then-husband, Michael Ray. My aunt’s first husband, Lew. My uncle’s first wife, Peggy. Eldor, who was married to “Little Penny” (as opposed to “Big Penny”, my grandfather’s sister, Georgia). My grandma is showing everyone something on a wood board - perhaps a mounted photo? I don’t know. And there’s my dad, with his full beard and long hair, which he had all through our “hippie” days. I love the clothes (my cousins’ matching dresses!) and all the artifacts, like the old camera in front of my aunt and her tasseled purse. The kids are loving having soda in cans - a rare treat!
