JOURNALING: When my friend Dona came down to Oregon for a visit once she wanted to do winery tastings. There are a lot of wineries around here. Some of the best are found on backroads in the hills of Yamhill County. I am not a wine drinker so I jumped on the job of Designated Driver. At this one charming little winery I was drawn to the flooring in their showroom, which was inside a red barn. They told me (as my friend tasted wines) that a local high school had remodeled their gym and this was the old flooring. They bought it and decided that rather than lay it out as a basketball court again, they would just lay it as it came off the truck. That explained the green stripes. I loved it. She loved the wine. It was a win-win stop. On the backroads...
