Template Mashup: Stars Help Tell the Story

This is Merrilee (aka digigrandma) here with the first of the March Mashup Challenges. This month I’m thinking about the versatility of the star motif in scrapbooking. I think everyone probably knows someone who deserves a star for their effort, their accomplishments or for being brave. I chose two templates that include a variety of stars and the Creative Team gave me super star quality examples to show you.

When Carol (aka Carollee) and her husband ran in a Fun Run recently, Carol said he was on fire! It was a fun event that raised money for a good cause. In think Carol also deserves star status for capturing this selfie while running! Carol’s additional designs are:  Watery Photo Masks 10, Looping Lines Brushes and Stamps 01 and Maybe Not Solids Paper Pack.

Speaking of great photo captures, Karen’s (aka grandmak) large photo taken at a lacrosse game is impressive and it looks great as the background for her page featuring smaller closeup photos from the game. Stars are perfect embellishments for sports pages. Arctic Whites Paper Pack and Page Fades 02 complete her Mashup.

In her Mashup example, Sarah, (aka Sterkeurs) pays tribute to the medical team that helped her during a successful recent surgery.  Sarah is back home now already scrapping again.  I love her use of the stars on her mashup. Hand Scripted Uh Oh Stamp Pack 02, Worth Repeating Brushes and Stamps 16 and Lightly Linens Paper Pack 19 complete her page.

Valerie’s (aka Nana_vg) page tells the story of her young grandson’s appendicitis attack and eventual surgery. Thankfully the little guy came through the ordeal as a brave super star and Valerie took advantage of the stars featured in the templates to tell him. Papers added to complete her page are Classic Cardstock: Spring and Astro Solids Paper Pack.

I am so pleased to show you the examples from the team. They are stars in my book! Now, please join in on this Challenge! The templates are always on sale in the Thrifty Thursday Sale. Use the templates to mix and match and add a background paper and you’re done! (Use additional designs if needed). Post your pages in the Gallery and in the March Rewards Participation Thread to count towards March Rewards points. Thank you! Have fun! Scrapping is a wonderful hobby, isn’t it?
