Color Challenge: Spring is coming

Hi and welcome to this month’s color challenge. It’s Chrissy here with some inspiration to keep you going through the transition in seasons. I can feel the change, for us in the northern hemisphere the days are getting lighter. This morning, for the first time this year, I didn’t need to put on a light when making that first cuppa of the day. It really made my heart happy to know winter is retreating.

Along with the lighter days come the bright colours of spring flowers, always a source of cheer. For this month’s colour challenge I looked to my favourite flower, the tulip, and chose this lovely photo as inspiration.

Two members of the creative team volunteered to create pages for this challenge and I love where the inspiration took them.

First is Shannon (ShannonR) with this gorgeous page about a visit to gardens. There is so much to take in here, I love her use of masking for the photo.

Shannon used Readymade Layers: Garden District Clusters 01 ; Vintage Garden District Element Mix Vintage Garden District Bits and Pieces ; Vintage Garden District Paper Scraps ; Vintage Garden District Remnants 01; Vintage Garden District Remnants 02 ; Vintage Garden District Paper Pack 02 ; Artsy Lace Clusters Brushes and Stamps 02 ; Spill Frame Layers 18.

Next up is Sarah (Sterkeurs), with this lovely simple page showcasing a gorgeous flower. I love the little details here like the stitching and the shadowed foliage behind the frame.

Sarah used ARToptions Mini Mix 29 ; Mulberry Blossoms Mini Kit ; Spectrum | Gardenia Leaves Ephemera ; Vintage Artistry Countryside Florals ; Color Swatch Peach Scrapbook Bundle ; ARToptions Rouge Ephemera ; ARToptions Rouge Page Layers 01 ; ARToptions Rouge Transfers 06 ; Artistry damour Kit ; Color Me Happy Solids Paper Pack ; Hey Missy Element Pack ; Spectrum | Sherbet Botanical Transfers ; Torn and Framed Layered Template 01 ; Torn and Framed Layered Template 03 ; Typed and Scripted Brushes and Stamps 10 ; Watery Foliage 38 .

For my page I went back in time to 2010, when we’d moved into a new home with a large garden, which my girl Amy enjoyed exploring.

I used the challenge freebie; Photo clusters 59 ; Hey Missy Scrapbook kit.

Now it’s your turn, Katie has generously provided a challenge freebie for the challenge. Share your pages with us in the Color Challenge gallery . Don’t forget to keep track of your challenges using 100 % Katie Pertiet Designs products in the March challenges participation thread to earn store discount at the end of the month.  . I can’t wait to see where the inspiration takes you.

Enjoy scrapping!
