Template Mashup: Memories

Hello from Minnesota, USA! It’s Merrilee here (aka digigrandma) with the first of two Template Mashup Challenges for the month of August. Digital templates make scrapping our memories fast and easy and combining parts of two different templates makes for very original looking pages. Besides, it is just plain fun. I hope you will join in on this Mashup Challenge because there is so much to choose from in these templates: a variety of framing, cool embellishments, stitching, brush work, word art, text paths and a wonderful mask for adding a blending photo in the background. It’s up to you which parts to use from each template in creating your own page. Remember, these templates will be on sale this week.

Frame and Blend Story Layered Templates 02

Layer Works 929

As we usually do for the Template Challenge, I have examples from the Creative Team to inspire you.

Here’s how Brenda (aka bbe) responded to the challenge using photos of her adorable granddaughter. I am impressed with how original and unique her page is. Very colorful, too! Brenda added the following designs to complete her page:

Watery Chevrons 05 Brushes and Stamps

Curated Team Scrapbook Mix 13

Torn Classic White Photo Frames 03

Lynn (aka Grandma Lynnie) used the templates to document a visit with good friends in Kansas City earlier this summer. The ample text block allowed her to tell the story with room for several photos, too. She used the painted photo mask for the photo of her friend’s lovely home. I love the embellishments she used like the clip, bow, button and camera!

Jana traveled this summer, too! For her example, she was able to showcase several photos taken in California while visiting her daughter. The variety of photo frames makes the page visually so interesting and she clipped a gorgeous seaside photo to the painted photo mask. Jana used the templates plus:

Vintage Artistry Beached Paper Pack

Typed and Scripted Stamp Pack 23

At Katie Pertiet Designs, it seems everyone loves to see pages that feature our furry friends. Addie (aka agoymerac) created this mashup design to feature photos of Mack. The title, Adorable, certainly fits this cute page. I think her background paper is a great choice. Addie’s additional designs include:

Daisetta Solids Paper Pack

Curated Favorites Paper Pack 09: In Blue

I created a page that features just one photo. (Did I tell you that I love the painted mask!) It is one of those special photos capturing a special moment between my husband and youngest son. It was a beautiful summer day and they enjoyed relaxing together on the dock at our lake cabin. The negative sleeve is an element I’ll use again and again. The background paper is Ombre Essentials Paper Pack 02

I am so excited to see what other possibilities there are using these two templates. Please join us for this challenge and post your pages in the Template Challenge Gallery
