Template Mashup: Love for October

Magical October! In the northern hemisphere we are well into the Fall season and  I hope all of you living in the southern hemisphere are enjoying your Spring season. My name is Merrilee (aka digigrandma). I’m thrilled to share with you several examples of Mashing Templates created by the Creative Team using the two templates I chose for this Template Mashup this month.

Both templates are based on a circular design which I find so attractive. There are plenty of details to choose from in these templates. The challenge is, of course, to use parts of each of the templates when you create your page.  You may add other designs if needed.

The responses from the Creative Team absolutely demonstrate how individual creativity plays a part when Mashing. It’s amazing how unique each person’s design is. Plenty of variety here!

First up, is Rachael (aka myssp). She clipped papers to the circular wedges for a bold looking background for her photo and the expertly clustered elements. It’s an awesome and eye catching page! Her additional designs are from Plum Harvest Mini Kit, Sweater Weather Paper Pack 01 and Textured Whites Paper Pack 02.

Brenda’s (aka bbe) page features a lovely black and white photo in the fancy white frame and then golden colored elements as decorations in the layers surrounding the photo. Brenda chose a non-circle design which is fun because it shows how individualized we can make our Mashups even though we all start with the same templates. I think her page is stunning! Her page is completed with Vintage Artistry in the Leaves paper Pack and Page Fades 02.

Next up is Amy’s page (aka Amy L). This charmingly elegant page took my breath away when I first saw it because it is so sweet. I like the tightness of her design centered in the middle of the page with lovely textured white space surrounding it. Amy used Botanical Bliss 01 Solids, Color Study Orange Paper Pack, Messy Painted Circles 01, Partial Page Masks 05 and Vintage Orchard Chipboard Words to complete this design.

Valerie (aka nana_vg) creatively combined frames from both of the templates to create this stunning page. Her pretty wreath looks fabulous against the subtly patterned background paper which is from Weathered Market Kit.

And, here is how I mashed the templates. I started with a circle wreath created with parts of both templates and then added my photo and other elements. I had so much fun creating this page and I’m pleased with my results. My background papers are from Duncan Solids paper Pack and Anchors Away Solids Paper Pack.

The good news is the two templates for the Mashup Challenge will be on sale for Thrifty Thursday. Be sure to grab both of them when on sale if you don’t already own them. I guarantee they will become handy for creating many, many layouts, especially in the Fall Season. After completing your Mashup please post in the Gallery and in the October Challenge Participation Thread for credit towards the store discount code.

Thanks, everyone, for taking a look at our examples. Have fun Mashing!
