Story Challenge: Fall Favorites

Hi, Jana here, filling in for Carol with this month’s Story Challenge. There are so many wonderful things to do and see in the fall. Let’s talk about what your favorite things are. Perhaps it’s as simple as watching the leaves turn into their brilliant display of colors or watching your kids/grandkids play in a pile of leaves. Maybe you love to walk amongst the leaves to hear the crunchy sound under your feet. Describe how you feel when you see the changing colors, leaves or take that brisk walk. What all do you really see and hear? Have you ever taken a trip somewhere to see the fall foliage? Where did you go? I wonder if I’ve been there too.

How about watching your favorite football (sports) team in the fall? Tell us who you watch and what your connection might be. Perhaps your alma mater, your local school team or favorite professional team. Let’s face it, we all have our faves!

There are so many opportunities for scrapbooking during the fall season. Going to the pumpkin patch or apple orchard, or maybe your favorite fall festival comes to mind. Did you ever go on a hayride? How about enjoying some fall delectables such as pumpkin/apple pie, apple cider donuts, caramel apples, pumpkin spice latte? A fan favorite is always toasted marshmallows over a bonfire and making the infamous s’mores! What mouthwatering treats do you enjoy?

I know cozying up by the fireplace with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate is a fall favorite too. Maybe you have a favorite blanket you throw on your lap. The cool, crisp fall air makes me think or sweaters my favorite boots, my awesome UGGs.

Let’s take a look at the pages created by several team members.

Merr (digigrandma) reflected on several fall memories with this lovely collage. I love how she pinned her photos onto a bulletin board, which I know many of us used to do and perhaps still do. Her cute little elements adorn her page in just all the right places.

Merr used the following products on her page:

Really Big Leaves, Fall TicketsFall Crush Scrapbook Kit, Textured Essentials Paper Pack 04, Away We go Tacks-freebie from a challenge, Layer Works 1971, Layer Works 1975

Next Stacia chose some beautiful photos displaying the brilliant colors of fall leaves! After reading her journaling, I wanted to just jump right in and take a few of those walks with her. The large focal photo on the left side really pops and sets the tone for her page. Her supporting photos are so beautiful too.

Kate (OKate) found some fall beauty in some unexpected places and now enjoys a special annual tradition. I love the photo grid with the nice variety of fall favorites. The brush work layers are beautiful and so is the title.

Kate used:

Autumnal Artistry Paper Pack, Vintage Artistry In the Leaves Solids, Vintage Artistry In the Leaves Epoxy Stickers, Vintage Artistry In the Leaves Text Splashes, Watery Foliage No 43, Vintage Mix Clusters No 27, Thin Classic Photo Frames No 3, Finally Fall Brushes

I couldn’t resist using some of my photos from a fall foliage trip we took a few years ago. I think the colors were the most brilliant I had ever seen!

Here is what I used for my page:

Textured Essentials 05 ***coming soon***

Framing Moments Vol. 01 LT 05, Painted Fall Layers 02, Freebies (title, cluster and frames)

I’d love to know what your fall favorites are. Maybe a single activity or maybe a collage of favorites. Even if you’re in the southern hemisphere, I know you can think of your fall faves too. Please tell us your own stories so we can enjoy them along with you.

There are loads of fall products in the store and you probably already have a lot in your stash. If  you need an extra item or two, Katie has generously provided a freebie for you to use. It’s not required for this challenge, but feel free to grab it. It will be valid for 6 months.
