Sketch Challenge: February

Good morning everyone, I hope you are keeping warm or cool – depending on what is appropriate for your part of the world. I’m currently sitting in front of a fan with the air con going at full tilt trying to deal with another over 37* (100*) day here in sweltering Perth.

I’m Sharon and I’m here with a new sketch for you to work with this month.

Without further ado – here is our sketch for February!

Our FREEBIE this month (thank you Katie!) contains a doily, a line of stitching and the chalked chevron arrows.

Once again, you are free to interpret the sketch in any way you choose. Use it as a starting point, replicate it exactly, swap elements in and out, replace the double photo slot for a single photo. Journal on the paper behind the photos – or replace it with a third photo . . . whatever you like!

Some of our wonderful CT ladies were keen to scrap a page for me.

First up, Yam created this lovely page about her grandson’s horse therapy. She went with the split paper background but recentered her title. I love all the added lttle elements that help to tell the story!

Next up is Karen (grandmak) who scrapped a rather sweet little dragon. She has included 3 photos and moved her title to the bottom of one of the pieces of paper. I like the way she created the split background using a remnant – and the lovely little file tab cluster tucked into the sketch title spot.

Then we have Julie’s soft and gentle page about two inseparable friends. I especially love the plaid masking behind the photo group – lovely!

Next is Valerie’s Happy New Year page – I love that she chose to replace the chalked arrows for glittery silver ones to match Anna’s gorgeous dress!

Shannon has used some of the new Super Bowl Stamps to scrap some favourite snacks. I love the extra layer of patterned paper she has added to the sketch design.

And last of all – I scrapped a photo (and a grandson’s cheeky comment), from a recent wander through an ancient forest of Tingle trees in our state’s south. I pretty well stuck to the sketch, although I did use a single photo instead of the double and replaced the doily with a slide reel.

I do hope we’ve inspired you to scrap our sketch this month. Don’t forget that 100% KPD product layouts can be added to the February Challenge Sign in Thread to earn store rewards.

We will all be adding our pages to the Sketch Challenge Gallery with complete credit lists in case there’s something we’ve used that you’d like to add to your wishlist in the store!

I hope to see you in the gallery soon! Happy scrapping!
