Scraplift: Stitched + Faded

Lori’s (lmaggs) page for the recent All About You challenge immediately caught my attention when she posted it in the gallery. I really liked how she directed the viewer’s eye through her page, from the cute photo of herself at work, to the leading lines of the striped paper clipped to the fading frame layer, and finally to her journaling about her job. And helping to unify her page were the embroidered flowers and stitching that anchored her photo. Two of my fellow Creative Team members joined me in lifting Lori’s great page – here’s how she inspired us.

Debbie (MINIDEB) has an affinity for Lori’s page because she, too, works with numbers in her job. She followed Lori’s design very closely; there’s nothing like a great page to charge your scrapping batteries. I love how the bright colors of her page complement her black and white photo.

Being a newly-minted cat mom, I loved reading about Addie’s (agoymerac) gorgeous cat Leonard. She matched the striped paper perfectly to the colors in the fabric in her photo, and I just want to put my hands into Leonard’s luxurious fur. Her journaling is all about Leonard’s crazy quirks, and notice that cute cat perched on the stitching.

In the last couple of years, I’ve rediscovered a love for counted cross stitch, so I scrapped a photo of one of my recent projects. I love clipping patterned paper to brushes for a subtle background in the colors of my photo. Katie’s photo cuts and watery masks are perfect for doing that, and the photo cut reminded me of fabric which seemed in keeping with my theme.

Whether you want to fade some patterned paper or stitch something, I know you’ll find plenty of inspiration in Lori’s page – can’t wait to see where it takes you. Remember to post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the June 2020 Participation thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
