Saturday Scraplift: It Looks So Real!

I love it when a digital scrapbook page looks so real that I want to reach out and touch it. Katie has designed so many products that facilitate that look, not the least of which is her wonderful series of spiral page notebooks. I am obsessed with them! Kate (OKate) used a new Nature Study spiral page to create a tactile glimpse into her walk in the woods, and I was immediately drawn to it. Valerie and Julie, two of my Creative Team sisters, joined me in lifting Kate’s terrific page. Here’s how it inspired us.

Kate’s page:

Valerie (nana_vg) went full-blown patriotic with her red, white, and blue page, and I love it! She was inspired by Kate’s use of a wood-look background paper; and she added a number of dimensional accents, such as foliage, flowers, a flag, and a star banner fastened with cute clothespins. God bless America!

Julie’s (MaggieMae) design highlights a beautiful park on the Oregon coast. Don’t we have an amazingly beautiful country?? I really like the stitched journaling card containing descriptive word strips, the taped frames, and the foliage she used to add texture to her page. I really need to put Oregon on my bucket list.

When I saw Kate’s page, I was reminded of the gorgeous waterfalls we saw when we recently vacationed in the mountains of western North Carolina, and Katie’s new Vintage Artistry Nature Study Kit was perfect to document the photos. I really like how Kate layered the spiral pages on one another and tucked elements under them for a touch of realism.

If you haven’t played with Katie’s spiral pages, I urge you to give them a try – you will love the results, and I will love seeing what you create with them. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the August Participation thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
