Saturday Scraplift: Circles and Patterned Paper

When I saw this adorable page by Amy (Amy L) in the gallery, I immediately fell in love. Since my paper scrapping days, I have adored patterned paper, and I enjoy using it on my pages. I know it can be intimidating, but using it the way Amy does on this page is brilliant. She incorporated it in her background and in the segments of the circle behind those cute photos of her granddaughter. My Creative Team sister Jheri joined me in lifting Amy’s page; here’s where the inspiration took us.

Amy’s page:

Jheri’s (Jheri) sweet photo is front and center and really pops against the soft tones of her papers. I love her patterned paper choices and the messy stitching around her circle. Is there anyone who doesn’t love licking the beater? Her picture is the perfect capture of bliss!

I scrapped a photo of my furry boys, George and Charlie, decked out in their festive bandannas under last year’s Christmas tree. I really liked Amy’s black, white, red, and green color scheme; and it worked perfectly with the boys’ black and white color combo. I also had fun with all the bits and pieces of Katie’s new Rustic Christmas collection.

There is inspiration galore in Amy’s great page, so I hope you’ll join in the fun and practice using some of the fabulous patterned paper in the store. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the December Challenges Participation Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping and Merry Christmas!
