Christmas Tree Challenge

Hi friends, it’s Trace (tracermajig) here for a little Christmas themed challenge! Is it just me or does it feel as though December is flying by?

One of my favourite things to do to slow time down during December is to sit by our Christmas tree in the early morning and just enjoy the peace and quiet. It brings me great joy and calms my heart and mind during an otherwise crazy time of year!

So, I decided to make this challenge all about Christmas trees. You can take this in any direction but you have to use at least one tree (in any shape or form) on your page. Katie has provided a freebie for the challenge but it’s not necessary to use it on your page. The shop is also packed full of Christmas trees and inspiration!

To help get you started I came up with a few page ideas as well:

  • Have you put up this year’s tree yet? I love documenting our tree each year to see how it changes and evolves over time.
  • Do you have a favourite ornament or some tree decorations that tell a story?
  • Do you have a favourite Christmas tree related childhood memory?
  • Do you have specific traditions revolving around your Christmas tree?

I put the challenge to our creative team and here are their pages for some further inspiration!

I love how Jheri used that tree sticker to accent those beautiful family portraits. The added greenery makes it feel as though you are sitting with them in front of the tree.

Jheri used these products to create her page: Country Christmas Scrapbook Kit, Layer Works 750, Layer Works 1600, Readymade Layers: Christmas Clusters 11, Rustic Christmas Solids Paper Pack, Vintage Christmas Element Pack

Addie (agoymerac) created this fun page documenting some of the antics her family’s elf has gotten up to over the years! The little stitched trees along the bottom of the page give great dimension.

Fran (frani_54) created a festive, non-photo layout that I think would make a wonderful album cover! The word art and embellishments look like a tree shape, too!

For my page, I wanted to document the little tradition we have of making our kids have a photo in front of the tree on Christmas morning. I was inspired to make my page a Christmas tree using lots of random little bits and pieces!
