Love It + List It: Christmas Favorites

Ho, ho, ho, and Merry Christmas, my friends around the world! As you might expect, we are loving and listing about all things Christmas this month. This challenge is wide open, with the potential for taking you in lots of directions. What are your favorite Christmas traditions? How about your favorites among the ornaments that decorate your Christmas tree? Do you have a favorite holiday treat? Then there are Christmas movies, songs, memories, and the list goes on. Valerie and Shannon joined me in scrapping about our Christmas favorites. Here’s where the inspiration took us.

On her page, Valerie (nana_vg) reflected on the Christmas traditions her family has observed through children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren. That’s a lot of kids! I love the stitched paper trees she used for background behind the pictures of Christmases past which document some of the traditions she talks about in her journaling. Those nesting boxes are genius for advent gifts!

Shannon’s (shannonr) page is all about her favorite ornaments. In her journaling she tells the story of each ornament and the memories it evokes. I can just imagine what a sweet time she has as she hangs each one of them on her Christmas tree, remembering people and places from her life. I love how her page includes lots of photos and significant journaling without looking crowded.

I love a good grid and thought that design worked perfectly for photos, journaling, and fun accents. I went eclectic with my favorites, choosing several categories. It was fun using Katie’s pretty, new kit, Home for the Holidays, along with a few things from my stash.
