Let’s Blend Challenge – Bound Notebook Blends

Hi Everyone – Joanne here with this month’s Let’s Blend Challenge. As soon as Katie designed the Bound Notebook Blends, I loved them. The blends can be used as a foundation of a layout or different blends and elements can be clipped to them. Here are a few examples:

I used the blend as the base of the layout and added everything on top of it. Texture was added to the butterfly to make it pop by duplicating it and using the Bas Relief filter in soft light blend mode.  Oh and I got the color palette idea from Sarah’s Color Challenge post last week. 😉

Products used: Lightly Linens No. 26, Chalked Rubbings No. 2, Bound Notebook blends No. 2-6, Artsy Vintage Value Pack No. 1, Readymade Layers Butterfly Clusters No. 5.

I flipped the Bound Notebook Blend horizontally for this layout, and used the PSD version of of the Nature Study Blendable layers and clipped it to the Notebook Blend. To give it dimension, the butterflies were unclipped from the blend and moved to the top of the layers panel. I duplicated a few, and resized them and arranged them around the page. I added more texture to some of the other elements by using the bevel and emboss layer style. Products used: Nature Study Solids, Nature Study Paper Pack, Nature Study Blendable Layers, Bound Notebook Blends No. 2-5, Bloese Element Pack.
