Let’s Blend Challenge

Hello, Joanne here (jcaruth910) with this month’s Let’s Blend Challenge. You know me, I love a layered mask and Katie’s Artsy Layered Charcoal Layers are what we will be working with this month. This mask not only has a couple of brushes to clip your photo to, but there are scribbles and splatters also. Each one is in its own layer and you can use any or all of them. You’ll find some wonderful examples below from the Creative team to give you some inspiration.

Shannon (shannonr) chose a wonderful photo of a lighthouse in Savannah. She paired it with the perfect background paper and blendable. Here are the products she used:  Loosely Scripted Sentiments 19, Chippy Beach Papers 01, Artsy Charcoal Layers 02, Coastal Memories Blendable Layers, Curated Studio Mix 42

Merrilee (digigrandma) used all the layers of the mask and added an additional framed photo to her page. I love how she used different colors on each layer to highlight portions of the mask. Here are the products she used:  Dreamy Paper Pack 06, Vintage Artistry Nature Study Solids Paper Pack, Slide Frames 03, ARToptions Viken Sentiment Transfers, Vellum Sentiment Strips

For my page, I turned off the scribble layers of the mask, and clipped my photo to the large photo mask. I then duplicated that mask and brought it down to the background, and recolored it to bring it a color from the photo. One of the spill frame layers frames was added also. Here are the products I used: Blendable Layers No. 72 Base, Artsy Charcoal Layers No. 2, Spill Frame layers No. 15, Boxed-in Sentiments No. 1
