Get Inspired Scrapbooking Challenge: Home Decor April

Good morning everyone!

Sharon here with another Home Decor image to inspire a scrapbook page. This month we’re going to work with this “Oh So Cute” kid’s playroom . . .

I was immediately drawn to the cool animal outline wallpaper with the spot coloured eyes. I thought of several different KPD products that could work with this idea, and if you do a store search for “outline” you will find even more.

I thought this set of Little Hearts Brushes & Stamps would work beautifully as a background or element:

And of course there are all the Doodle-do products like these Doodle-do Words: Birthday Brushes & Stamps :

And then there are all the Pencil Line products: leaves, flowers, pumpkins and Butterflies!

You could make backgrounds of any of these, and include some spot colouring too if you’re feeling arty! The wallpaper also reminded me of the Coloring pages and the coloring pocket cards that Katie made back in 2016:

But that’s not the only inspiration to be taken from these images!
I also thought the animal theme and the light bright colours were appropriate for Spring/Easter scrapping.
I like the white and beige background, the wood veneer texture, the variety of stripes and the cute exclamation points. We also have some Printer’s Trays that look like those gorgeous sectioned windows.

I like the white picture frames together with white mats that have been used to frame the artwork and I love the tulips in a vase (a bit of a luxury where I live!!)

I asked the Creative team what they thought and Merrilee (Digigrandma) used Doodle-do Florals Brushes & Stamps to create this gorgeous page. She especially enjoyed “colouring in” her elements.

Carolyn (Amson), went with the Nature theme and used Pencil Line Leaves to create her background:

I just love that Erin used the room decor as inspiration to scrap the paintwork in her little daughter’s room! She found a rainbow stamp from the Handscripted Motivation Stamp Pack and she made a stroke outline and then deleted the inside to create the outlined rainbow used so effectively on her page:

For my own layout, I enlarged one of Katie’s Coloring Crazy Pocket Cards to fill my page and spot coloured some of the hearts. I used a white/beige coloured background and some wood veneer elements. I took the colour scheme from the images and placed my photo in a white matt and frame. I also snuck in some tulips there!!

All of us had a lot of fun with our pages and I hope we’ve inspired you to try something similar. Katie has put together a generous FREEBIE if you’d like to use it for your page.

You will find all our pages with complete credits in the Get Inspired Gallery and we hope to see yours there too! Don’t forget to post your 100% KPD product page in the April Challenge Participation Thread to earn sopping rewards.

Happy scrapping!
