Get Inspired Challenge: Home Decor May

Good morning everyone,

Sharon here with your Get inspired Challenge for May. While browsing Pinterest, this image caught my eye because neutral/black decor always intrigues me – probably because I don’t think I could ever really pull it off in real life!

SO – you could be inspired by the elegant colour palette – something like this?

BUT you might also notice the mix of textures; smooth paintwork, wood veneer, slubby linen and that lovely feathery foliage!

OR you might be inspired (or challenged!), by the repeating circle motif.

PERHAPS you might be prompted to use both black and white framing on a layout?

Our creative team members Shannon (shannonroller) and Liz (lizziet5) were inspired to make very different but equally gorgeous pages for the challenge.

Shannon has picked up on the wood grain texture and the colour scheme to creat a beautifully tranquil setting for her lovely photo. I love the way she has cleverly framed her photo in both black and white!

Liz was inspired by the all the circles and the mix of textures and has produced a page that has all her usual elegance of design. I love the finishing touch of the little wood veneer hearts

When I noticed all the circles I was reminded of a picture my daughter sent me of my granddaughter’s riotous curls completely untamed on school vacation! I used a lot of different circles and relied on that feathery foliage to tie them all together.

Katie has generously put together a FREEBIE for you. Feel free to download it and use some/all/none (!) of it on your page which we hope to see in the Get Inspired Gallery this month. You’ll find our pages together with our credits there also. Don’t forget that you can earn store rewards if you post your 100% KPD layout in the May Challenge Participation Thread in the forums.

Happy scrapping everyone!
