Challenge of the Month – Stretch Your Stash

Hello everyone! Kathy (blackkathy) here for another fun round of the Challenge of the Month. This month, I will be showing you how I used the same png three times to create three different looks on my layouts by changing the color, clipping a paper and changing the blend mode of the paper, not the png, and lastly just clipping a paper to it. This is the png I chose.

First up I have my new grandbaby Jett in handy man mode. I just took the color picker and chose a color from the kit I used to fill the png.

Supplies Used:

Artsy Blend Layers Botanicals 13, Cute Mini Mix 4, Miriam Solids

Next up, is my little dancing queen Jessie who loved putting on shows for me. I clipped the paper to the png using the lighten blend mode which gave me this pretty, soft background.

Supplies Used:

Artsy Blend Botanicals 13, Color Essentials Pink Ribbons and More, Everlasting Remix Alpha, Big Bottom Lift Classic Frames, ARToptions Rouge Solids, Messy Stitched Borders Pink 3
Miriam Solids

And last but definitely not least, is grandbaby Megan. On this one, I simply clipped a paper to it.

Supplies Used:

Artsy Blend Botanicals 13, Vintage Artistry Blush Solids, Vintage Artistry Blush Stack Layers, Vintage Artistry Blush Ephemera, Vintage Artistry Blush Flairs
Miriam Solids

Well, Scrappers, I hope you can find yourself a fun png from your stash and give this a go. Make sure to upload your layouts in the Challenge of the Month Gallery and also in the May 2026 Forum to receive your proper credit towards a store discount. Remember, always have fun with it and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
