Happy Birthday to us! We’re adults now!

18 years! Hard to believe really.

Way back, 19 years ago we had our first e-commerce store, Tootahs selling mothers bracelets. I was a passionate scrapper getting published and consumed with a scrapbook site that’s no longer around, twopeasinabucket. We advertised Tootahs there and built a great little business. Meanwhile, I had moved all my scrapping supplies out of my office so I would focus more on my clients in my freelance design business… well it didn’t keep me from scrapping, instead I started going digital. I asked Randy if we could post paper singles to sell on Tootahs and instead he built me a new website and… DesignerDigitals.com was born!

I had made lots of connections through twopeas and had attended the CHA shows with my retail license for Tootahs and it was there that I connected with Autumn Leaves and began designing the Foof-a-la Collections for them in 2005, just months after launching the website. It all energized me and we added designers to the store as that was the thing you did if you had a digital store back in the day. We grew, we learned, we evolved. We have built a fabulous creative team that helps me market the products and many of our original team members are still with us today!

In 2019, we were getting closer to a new goal we had, to make the website exclusively my designs. The other designers were finding other places to call home and by 2020 we had an empty nest. Just like with our empty nest at home, the empty nest in the store meant we could change things as we pleased and not worry about how it would affect others so we moved to a complete rebrand and katiepertietdesigns.com was launched in September of 2020.

Another exciting addition I was able to make with our new site was to offer print-on-demand Home Goods! Super exciting to be able to put my designs on other products for you to enjoy in your home! As with everything, I have so many more ideas for this department and as time allows will look forward to bringing them to the SHOP!

The rebrand to katiepertietdesigns.com has been better than we could have imagined and making the future so much more clear for us, grateful for all of our community that supported the transition and continues to be a part of our community today!
