Saturday Scraplift: Put It in a Grid

I confess: I love a grid! They are so stinking versatile because they can be ultra linear and organized, or they can be loose and edgy. There’s really something for everyone with a grid. I immediately noticed the grid-based page Sharon (Shannamay) designed for her recent Get Inspired: Book Covers Challenge. I really like the bits of graph paper she used to create her grid and then all of those cute bits she attached to the pieces of paper, including those adorable photos. Julie and Kathie, two of my fellow Creative Team members, joined me in taking inspiration from Sharon’s page.

Sharon’s page:

Julie’s (MaggieMae) page tells the story of winter in her part of the country – brr! I love the icy blue-greens of her mostly monochromatic page. She included a great selection of appropriate word art, and I like that title down the right side of the page. Aren’t those hoarfrost pictures SO cool??

Every page of Kathie’s (kathie02) is a work of art, and this one is no exception. She went for a subtler, artsier take on the grid by blending collage sheets from Katie’s brand new Color Swatch Toast Kit in the background and then layering on brush work, a large, blended image, and her excellent photos. Love it!

I scrapped a couple of wonderful photos that a family friend took of my grandson playing in a recent lacrosse game. The grid gave me room for the photos as well as my title, some word strips, lacrosse sticks, and Sam’s jersey number. Then I blended the action photo into the left side of my page.

What story will you tell in a grid? I know you’re going to find plenty of inspiration in Sharon’s page. Remember to post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the March Challenge Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
