Saturday Scraplift: Blending Irregular Shapes

Hi! Shannon (shannonroller) here with this week’s Saturday Scraplift. This week we are lifting Frani (frani_54). All the different shapes and angles in this layout were fascinating and really stood out in the gallery for me. I also wondered if I would be able to create a look like this myself. I knew it might be a challenge to figure out something that might look like this but I took it on and I hope that you will find some inspiration in this layout as well.
Frani let me know that she had created a template for this design so that she can easily recreate this look in the future. I don’t generally do that but it certainly makes sense-especially with something that turns out so well and is so unusual. Here is one example of her using that template for another photo.
Products used: Artoptions Mini Mix 12 and Watert Scribbles 03.
As usual, the Creative Team has come up with some additional examples to inspire you.
First up, Addie (agoymerac) created this great sports page.
I Just Want to Play Soccer Products used: Cut Ups: Soccer
Chrissy (kikimama) did this beautiful page of a visit to Glencoe. Love that she used some creative curves for her unusual shapes and blended word art instead of the blended rectangular shapes.
Glencoe Products used: Curved Page Masks 02. Mixed Stacks Descriptors 02, Lake Lodge Solid Paper and Readymade Layers: Everyday 07.
I stuck pretty close to Frani’s original design. I used a photo of one of the centerpieces from my son and daughter-in-law’s recent wedding.
Little Details Products used: Artoptions Mini Mix 12.
Remember to post your layouts in both the Saturday Scraplift Gallery and the February Challenge Sign-in Thread to get credit toward a discount coupon to go shopping in the KPD store. I hope you will find this a fun challenge and that you will find inspiration in both Frani’s layout and those of the creative team. Looking forward to see what you all come up with.
