Brush it Up Challenge: Mixed Stacks

Hi! Julie here with the Brush it Up Challenge for October. I chose the Mixed Stacks Descriptors 03 as the brush pack we are using this month because it is so versatile. I picked this set because you can pretty much scrap photos from any season, and basically any event using the more general word art. You can also select just a few of the words to make your own title. For example I made “endless summer” and “autumn colors” by selecting two of the words from a mixed stack, rearranging them and giving each word a different color for some pop.

Our first sample is from one of our Guest CT Members Emma! She uses an 8.5″x11″ format for her pages which I really like. Definitely check out her gallery for more scrappy inspiration! I love how Emma clipped a photo to the word art and gave it a bevel to help it stand out on the page.

Next up is Penny with a bright and cheery page. She gave each line in the title a different color and then added a white stroke to really highlight and set it apart from the background. And I just love the background paper she selected.

Finally we have Stacia’s page. She made the word art a BIG part of her page, filling the entire left half. Her photos match the word art really well and help tell the story. Stacia chose one color to clip to the stack of words and tied the color in at the border and edges of her photos.
