Template Mashup: Hello October

Greetings, friends! Merr here with the first of two Template Mashup Challenges in October. In one part of the world we welcome the fall season when the leaves turn glorious colors and in another part of the world folks enjoy spring and the arrival of new green leaves and blossoms on the trees. No matter what the season, templates speed up scrapping time and the Template Mashup Challenge provides ideas for the elements to use on an original design of your own making. I hope you’ll join in on this challenge this month. The rules are simply to take parts of each template and rearrange them on your page. The templates are included in the Thrifty Thursday Sale making this a good opportunity to add these useful templates to your design stash. So, let’s get started by showcasing the templates and the inspiring examples created by the Creative Team.

Love Fall Most Layered Template

Designed by Penny (pennyh)
Penny created this dreamy, fall page by clipping a photo to the mask included in one of the templates. Two different photo frames for the smaller photos provide nice variety. Be sure to look closely at the water in her clipped photo. You can see the gentle ripples of the waves. The title word art and a paper from Chippy Foundations Paper Pack 19 plus Vintage Artistry in the Leaves Paper Pack complete her page.

Designed by Jheri
Oh, the wonderful harvest time! It is depicted here in Jheri’s photos. I love the cluster she created with the heart, the button, the bee and the leaves. All the elements she needed are found in the templates for the Challenge. A Paper from Waterworks Texture Paper Pack 01 completes her page.

Designed by Valerie (nana_vg)
What a fun experience to grow your own pumpkin from seeds! The photo on Valerie’s page captured how pleased this young fellow is with the results. I wonder if he’ll be carving a jack o’ lantern design for Halloween this year? This page is clean and fresh, yet, it has so many perfect elements added around and under the photo for added interest. Valerie’s background is a blend of two papers from Lightly Linens Paper Pack 19 and Palette Texture Paper Pack 01.

Designed by Sarah (sterkeurs)
Fall and Football go together! Sarah took a cute selfie with her friend at a recent game. It’s a great shot of the two of them. I love her combination of football themed elements plus fall elements from the templates. She added designs from Hand Scripted 42 and Huddle Up Stickers. Her background paper is Chippy Sports Paper Pack 02.

This gorgeous page by our Guest CT, Emily Duke, invites one to take in the beauty of the these white buildings photographed in the midst of the Fall Season. Emily definitely knows how to mash two templates for a great effect!

My own example features fall photos taken on a drive to our cabin up in Northern Minnesota. I love the blue sky with fluffy clouds we often see on October days. I loved the blue pumpkin matching the blue sky in one of my photos. I found everything I needed in the two templates and only added a paper from Krafty Garden Simple Essentials Paper Pack.

Thank you, Penny, Jheri, Valerie, Sarah and Emily for your wonderful examples.
