2ND OCTOBER TEMPLATE MASHUP
Hi all! This is Barbara (grantlaurensmom) here with the second Template Mashup Challenge of October. I’ve got to tell you, there are so very many amazing templates to choose from at KPD that I always struggle choosing two for a mashup challenge. 😀 To be honest, I end up seeing templates that I want to scrap with right now and then I get distracted. Ha! That being said, I was able to limit myself to just these two templates. First of all, I’m always drawn to multiple photo templates, so we’ve got one of those, and then I liked that both of templates had artsy leaves. So, since I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer, the two templates I chose for the 2nd October mashup were Layer Works 2412 and Layer Works 2437. Both templates have so many fun goodies to choose from in a mashup! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Oh, and don’t forget, in case you don’t already have these templates in your stash, they’ll be marked down in the store.

So, now that you know what we’re working with, here are the details: If you’ve participated in a Template Mashup Challenge in the past, have at it. If this is your first time joining us, the rules are super simple: take parts from each of the two chosen templates (any and all parts that inspire you!) and use them to create a page that’s all your own. If you’d like to, feel free to add a couple of additional KPD elements or papers of your choice, but please keep it to just designs from KPD. When you’re done with your page, post it in the Template Mashup Challenge Gallery as well as in the October 2026 Challenge Participation Thread in the forum and you’ll earn points toward a store discount for completing monthly challenges.
To help get your creative juices flowing, several members of our creative team were inspired to play along with this challenge and created some lovely pages to share with you. Let’s take a look, shall we?!
First up is a page by Stacia (Stacia). I love that Stacia’s page has so many photos and so much journaling… all favorites of mine. I think the paper she masked in the center is perfection. It’s simply a great mashup! Her supply list is just the two templates and ARToptions Painted Ledger Paper Pack 01Â and Autumn Fields Paper Pack.
Next up is a page by Addie (AddieG). It’s just the sweetest page ever. I love that Addie’s take is a totally different from Stacia’s and that her photos are laid out completely differently. I love the colors and the softness of her page… and those photos are just so dang sweet! The only thing she needed to add to make her page complete, other than the templates, was Text Textures Paper Pack 02.
A third fun inspiration page I have for you was created by Valerie (nana_vg). I love how Valerie drew out her photo into two frames. It’s such a happy Easter page with those smiling faces and flower accents. Gorgeous. The only product she needed to complete her page, other than the templates, was Dreamy Paper Pack 01.
And finally, I (grantlaurensmom) of course also wanted to share my mashup of these two templates. I wanted to focus on the multi-photo design of the one template and pulled in element clusters from ther other. I did a little bit of recoloring of elements and popped in a paper from Arctic Whites Paper Pack 02 and voilà , my page came together pretty quickly!
