This will be the right side of a spread for the 2022 YNP Book Year of the Bear. And yes, I know it is a wolf. Journaling reads: I have thought of you often after returning home. It is unusual for us to see a lone female, especially one who looks like she has pups. Where is your pack? Were you a pack of only two or maybe three? Only the alpha female breeds. But if you are alpha, where is your mate? I know wolves usually mate for life. So is he gone - victim of the winter - or is he hunting too? So many questions but you did not have time to answer. Will you survive? Will your pups survive? It looked as if you were in good physical shape, especially for the end of winter. I will not ever know the end of your story, having caught the barest glimpse of the middle. I guess that means I can write it as I see fit...a happy ending or a tragedy. Well, not really a tragedy but nature can be harsh. So, for my book, let’s assume all is well.
