So you’re now a big bro... pretty amazing hey?! And isn’t your baby sister gorgeous? But what is it you’re really thinking as you appear to be looking at her with such care and affection, if not more than a little intrigue?
Hey Ayla, those toys at home are mine... I’ve built them up over two Christmas’s and a birthday so you kinda need to earn yours and when you do, I want to play with them as well because that’s how it works around here.
And you’ve spent more than your fair share of time with Mummy these last 9 months... I know she’s super special but I need you to remember that she’s my Mummy too, so I could do with you backing off a little now, ok?
Oh and another thing... I need to let you know that Daddy will buy you the coolest of clothes. Ouma is lovely but she’s mine and Ava plays nicely with me as she will with you but I always go first. Nana’s ok but she takes an extraordinary amount of photo’s so you best get used to it. I used to pose nicely for her but now I only do it for Mummy or Daddy. And Oupa... well... he’s a real grump most of the time but I just tell him “NO OUPA!” and he always backs down. Nana’s always on my side anyway. She’s nice like that. And then there’s Hugo... they say he’s a dog but I’m almost sure he’s a pony. He loves being with people but he gets over excited so be careful he doesn’t knock you off your feet because he’s done that to me a few times before. And if he barks, you just have to say “NO HUGO!” I kinda say “NO!” a lot, especially to Oupa and Hugo.
So yeah, welcome earthside Ayla...

Whatever is going through your mind Ace, I hope you will always look at Ayla so tenderly, that you will always have her back and that you are always kind and gentle with her. Just as I hope she will always be there for you. You are absolute treasures in our lives and we simply couldn’t imagine life without you both. Tons of love always.
