The faces of those that have kept me going during 2020. These people are my all. The arrival of Ace was a monumental blessing to us all, [private journaling] and we all managed to survive health-wise and financially. A super special thank you to Vincent who navigates my relentless and often incessant lows with his usual ‘the show must go on’ gusto while I simply seek to be understood.
I’m so sick of the global pandemic that is Covid-19. Not a single person has been untouched by it and while we’re all in the same storm, we are not all in the same boat. Poor Ace was hospitalised in November with bronchiolitis which was a worrying time but thankfully, he was soon better. My struggle with [private journaling] is intense. I have never worried so much or been as anxious in my life. Try as I might to maintain perspective, some days it’s just impossible for me to do so. I’m sad that I’m not finding much joy in the present and I’m sickened that I fear the future and what it may hold.
Not being able to travel to meet Ace has been one of the most heartbreaking things in 2020. I’ll never make peace with what we have missed in that respect. The heartsore will never go away but I do find comfort in dreaming of the day I do eventually get to give him a cuddle. [Private journaling]. May these three special people rest in peace.
