After a rather painful few weeks of hassles with builders, Ava finally has her new teenage pad! Thankfully, the second builder worked hard to put everything right and did a great job. She’s such a lucky girl to have a new room, new cupboards, a gorgeous new desk and chair, a beautiful barn door and so much space! There’s just a couple more pieces to go into her room, a mirror and a rug and she’ll be all set! Ace will now move into Ava’s old room - not sure how he’s going to feel about that but the next thing for Hayley and Dewald to do is to put up his new cot!
Jodie and the boys do enjoy a good road trip. They went to Woburn Safari Park on Saturday where a monkey climbed on top of the car and a bear was getting closer and closer! I probably could’ve coped with the monkey but not the bear... I’d have died!
Work has been absolutely manic again this week and I’ve put in so many extra hours yet I still haven’t managed to catch up. There are tight deadlines and conflicting priorities and not enough hours in the day. It doesn’t look like it’s going to ease up for a while either. I went into HQ on Thursday and suddenly realised that I have far more productive days working from home and I’m now glad that it doesn’t look like we’ll be going back to the office any time soon. Despite the easing in lockdown restrictions, I still feel like all as I’m doing is working. Hopefully that will change in the next couple of weeks as we start to go out and about again, particularly at weekends. One thing with being really busy though is that the days and weeks are flying by and as they do so, I know we’re getting closer to seeing Jodie and the boys and flying out to see the Cape Town crew and meeting Ace in person. And getting closer to seeing my siblings again. FINALLY, I HAVE HOPE! It’s true, I seem to have turned a corner in the last couple of weeks and I’m feeling so much better. It’s been such a long haul and I was so out of sorts but now the days are brighter and I know even better days are coming.
