Today I woke-up to find one of my moths finally came out of it's cocoon. I honestly had assumed these ones were not going to come out but I was pleasantly surprised that after nearly 6 months this one successfully made it out of diapause! This moth is called a Cynthia Silkmoth and is a slightly less domesticated cousin of the silkmoth used to produce silk (some of the other moth's I've also raised). A bummer I don't have any science fairs scheduled to volunteer at right now to share this cool moth!
