I never thought I’d get to see Billy Joel again. Ever. It’s been an absolute age since I saw him last and my ears priced up to hear on the radio that he was coming out in December. ONE NIGHT ONLY IN AUSTRALIA. And it was to be in Melbourne thanks to the Andrews Government post-pandemic ‘Always Live’ program supporting tourist and businesses across the state whilst giving a massive boost to the state’s live music industry. There was no question about it, having seen him seven times in concert already, I would be going to this one, no matter what. With Mike and his hearing problems he didn’t want to go - extra loud music would be worse than softly spoken voices with his hearing clarity. One message to Beth and I was met with a resounding YES! So all I had to do now was to get tickets. I decided best chance was to become a Frontier Touring VIP so I could get pre-sale tickets before they were open to the general public. I was ready on the pre-sale day on the stroke of 11am. I had shut my office door with a do not disturb sign on it, and had two computer screens and my phone running, looping through the sales lines and seven minutes later I got the purchase screen up - yahoo!! In I went and a few minutes later was quite a few hundred dollars poorer but two tickets richer!! I let out the biggest squeal. Tania from the next office came running in thinking I had found the pesky mouse that had been tormenting us in our office corridor for a week. But no, I was jumping up and down and clapping like a seal I was so excited. Lucky seven will turn into fantabulous eight. Both Beth and I can’t wait.
