Template Mashup: This is Fall

Hello, all! This is Merrilee back with a new Template Mashup Challenge for November. Before we get too far into the winter months, I thought we should scrap another Fall page with leaves. Nature puts on quite a show! Our theme for this first Mashup is Falling Leaves. Here are the templates for the Mashing:

Watercolor Blends Layered Template No 14

Layer Works 2217

I hope these beautiful templates are very tempting so that you will want to join in on this challenge. I’d love to see some first timers join in as well as all those who are regulars for this challenge. The challenge is to take parts of both templates to use in a new design that you create. You may use extras from your KPD digital stash if you wish. When finished please post in the Template Mashup Gallery and also inĀ  the November Challenge Participation Thread in the Forum so that it earns points towards your November Discount Code for Challenge participation.

OK, let’s see what’s included in these templates. Those great big fall leaves are wonderful and I like that there are a couple of different choices for framing your photo or photos. You even have two different options for titles. The Creative Team and I enjoyed playing around with the different parts and here’s how we mashed!

I’ll start with Jana’s page featuring two photos of trees in all their fall splendor. She incorporated the window from one template and the big leaves from the other template into a design and used the Chippy Foundations Paper Pack to blend with the big leaves for the background. Jana also added a Slide Reel and Messy Stitching around the edge of the page. Thank you, Jana, I love your fall leaf vibes.

Next, Addie takes us along for a fall ride deep into the woods! Thanks, Addie, that looks like fun! I absolutely love the woven texture of the paper from Metsa Solids Paper Pack.

And, here is how Valerie expertly mashed the templates. This happy pumpkin page with a great cluster of photos, leaves and the window makes me smile to see the young college girls enjoying Rush. Thanks, Valerie! Her blended background combines 3 different papers from Season of Joy Solids Paper Pack.

I fell in love with the beautiful window frames and used them to frame a scene I photographed while visiting our son at their lake home this fall. I used one of my favorite paper packs for backgrounds, Sea Salt Air 01.

Well, that was so fun to present these examples using the templates for the Mashup Challenge. Thank you, Jana, Addie and Valerie!

Don’t be shy now about mashing. Try it! I think you’ll find it as enjoyable as we all do.
