Template Mashup: Say Hello to What you Love

Greetings to all our KPD scrapping friends. We’re celebrating our 18th birthday! No better way to celebrate than with a sale and new challenges for April!

This is Merrilee (aka digigrandma) here with a new Template Mashup Challenge. The templates I chose are perfect for showcasing people or places we love. Who can resist Xs and O’s as a design element? Or word art that includes the word, love? And, if that doesn’t tempt you to scrap with these templates, just look at the choice of frames, the greenery and the layers! Go for it! Discover the fun of mashing!

Your original design should include parts of both templates. You get to pick and choose what to use. You may add any additional KPD designs to your page. Everything is on sale this week for the KPD 18th Birthday Celebration, including the templates for this challenge. What a great opportunity to add these versatile templates to your stash!

As always, we provide examples to get you started thinking about your own design.

Wendy (aka wendymck) created this perfectly lovely page. It’s got an elegant look to it with all the dark green tones in the leaves and the papers. The graceful word art for the title adds the finishing touch. The handsome young couple in the photos are all dressed up to attend a wedding and soon they will be the bride and groom at their own wedding. We wish them the very best for their wedding and their future together.

Wendy’s paper choices are from Palette Textures Paper Pack 22 and Monochromatic Forest Paper Pack

Next, Brenda (aka bbe) placed the photo frames in a horizontal design and filled the frames with darling photos of her granddaughter. Who can resist smiling back at those cute expressions captured with Brenda’s camera? I know I can’t!

Alandia Rancheros Solids Paper Pack completes the background on Brenda’s page.

My page is all about a place we love to visit in the winter where we can get out for daily walks in the sunshine. The big X’s and O’s were fun to fill in with patterned papers and it is easy to do with a template. All the green leafy embellishments were perfect for my photos taken on those daily walks.

I used Metsa Solids Paper Pack for my background and Color Study: Green Paper Pack for the patterns filling in the alphas.

Please post your pages in the Template Mashup Gallery and in the April Participation Thread to count towards your earned discount you can use in the KPD store.

Now, go grab the templates and discover the joy of mashing!
